The PRINTOBER Print Show

The Print Show, curated by artists Mary Jones and Catherine Dreiss, will showcase the work of over 20 artists, many seen in Des Moines for the first time. Work will range from traditional prints on paper to installations that challenge and expand the definition of printmaking.
The curators state that the art in the exhibit is a reflection of the diversity of methods and expression in printmaking today. Traditionally, a print is a work of art made by transferring an image from an inked surface to paper. However, printmaking has always adapted with the times, and so the show will not only feature traditional etchings, lithographs, screen prints and relief prints, it will also showcase digital prints and immersive installations.
The Print Show, which runs concurrently with Karen Strohbeen and Bill Luchsinger’s annual exhibit, is free and open to the public. It closes on November 26, 2016.
